What are some recent, upcoming or current projects you are working on? I was in a two person show at Magic 175 in New York, and I am participating in a group show at the new space of Galerie Olivier Robert in Paris in September, followed by my solo exhibition there, which will open in January.

What is one of the bigger challenges you and/or other artists are struggling with these days and how do you see it developing? Finding the right balance between studio practice, source of income and social life.

How did your interest in art begin? I was raised by my mother and grandmother who were both art lovers. When I was a kid they would always encourage my creative impulses, so I would say that my interest in art was always there and naturally grew with me.

If you had to explain your work to a stranger, what would you say? I wouldn’t try to explain it because I like to keep the doors open, but I would rather tell them that I am currently working on large paintings and abstract assemblages, which involve cartomancy, prison science and Alfred de Musset.
