Alehsy Lambo

April 3, 2025

Alehsy Lambo is a multidisciplinary artist born in south Spain, he moved to Barcelona in 2015, and lives in Mexico City since 2025. He fell in love with street culture, tuning cars and street racings as a kid. He captures scenes and portraits of his favorites references and shows his world in the form of blurred visions, road dreams, and a fresh touch that persists in him since his youth. His paintings talk about the mixing of the lights and movings they have on his favorite objects making his own influences of the extravagant and fictitious scenarios. The particularity, the details of said objects and moments of daily life that go unnoticed. The beauty of things being destroyed. His detailed and authentic aesthetic speaks through his own visual language that makes use of colors, shapes and blurry references, processing influences into a simple and dynamic art. Memories, some of his own photographs and personal extracts arise. Its recognizable creating effect is transported to the canvas and allows the creation of personal compositions. To pay tribute to his greatest source of inspiration, he deals with his own passion for cars and experiences that echoes his childhood and his nostalgic views.

Tell us a little bit about yourself and what you do.
Hola, I’m Alehsy Lambo and I like to do all kind of shit, I started doing graffiti when I was in the school by 14 or sum, quickly I did my first panel with my best friend at that time and I was in shock by the experience, I never felt any kind of adrenaline at that age and that really change the way I saw life. I keep searching for moments like this in my life day to day, I try to find new ways to feel it, I like to paint on any kind of surface, do tattoos, sculptures, but none of those are even close to being next to a subway train at night.

Are there any influences that are core to your work?
I like to try not to follow or inspire a lot in other people’s works and that’s what I think it has made my own style. Of course, I have a lot of influences but mainly they are my friends and my father. S/O Dali and Picasso too, the way they saw life is my true inspiration.

How were you introduced to the mediums that you work with?
It’s hard to remember but I’m sure my friends introduced it to me, I always used to hang around with people 10 years older than me when I was a kid, they showed me everything I know today.

What draws you to using Lamborghinis in your work?
Yeah, this one is the question of my life, so here we go, when I was a kid, I was actually in love with cars, and my father used to buy me those beloved scale cars to play with, I remember he got me some “Countach” and I was fascinated the way those mf open the doors. It really shocked me, well till this day I’m still impressed, then by 10 I was already drawing cars, by that time the culture of tuning cars in Spain was big, and I used to buy that magazine it was called Maxi Tuning. They had this last page contest where the readers send drawings and they feature the top 5 or something. I remember I was in a summer camp when my father told me I was the first. That keeps me pushing to do more and more.

Then by 2014 we were doing a wall and my homie told me to do a car, he already knew that I fucked with cars so much, and so I did, he loved it, and he ask me to get it tatted. Either the wall and that tattoo were a hit on my page, so I decided to keep doing them one more time, till today every city I visit I still get pictures of every crazy car I saw and I’m so thankful that I fell in love with this culture.

Do your tattooing and your painting influence each other?
Those inspire each other, I think it’s actually a triangle between painting, tattoo and graffiti. I’m actually influenced by the Chicano culture, I love the way those kings saw everything. I try to get my tattoos very artistic and with some touches of nonsense painting style.

If you had a dream city comprised of bits and pieces from the places you’ve traveled to, what would it look like?
It would be a mix between Tokyo and Mexico, food and people from those countries are the best I ever met. Graffiti from New York of course, culture and prices from Spain, I love daytime drinking at the terrace with some tapas for god sake.

What’s your workspace like? Do you have any rituals when you settle in there?
Right now I am working at my place in Mexico City, and yeah my rituals are clean everything and put some xtra order, then I play Aphex Twin or Air, and make some coffee. Normally I work only in the daytime but lately I feel like the time in Mexico is very relative and fast, so I’m starting to work on nighttime, for that one the rituals are the same but with some beers.

What prompted the decision to relocate to Mexico City from New York?
Well I don’t want to spend another winter in New York, when you can be in Mexico in shorts and happy. I love New York winter but also economy and political situation are just not the best right now, I wish all the luck to the artists that are day to day fighting on that war, but I had to get some other references on my pants this year.

How does living there compare to life in New York or Barcelona?
Life here is beautiful, inspiring, every day I discover some new stuff. I feel like in Barcelona at some point years ago I was bored and not getting any more of the city, and in New York you’re just worried about paying rent and making money. Here is the perfect balance, plus you got to see Looney Tunes paintings all over the city and I love micheladas.

Are there any areas that you’re interested in exploring further in your work?
I really want to do a big sculpture with metals and shit. Parts of cars, lights. Something really out of the classic mediums.

Do you have any dream projects?
Well I already made one of my dream projects in 2022 Art Basel and I paint and drove around my own hand-crafted lambo, but still I would love to just build my own car, in my garage, with a cold beer, and my son around, like a 3 year up and down shit, and maybe a robot too, but not like the Tesla ones lol, more like a funny and crazy one.

What do you collect?
I wish I could collect some stuff that I don’t lose, but since I’m nomadic I like to gift my friends with the stuff that I would like to collect, hoping they would to the same with me when I’m not a globetrotter anymore.
