LVL3 is elated to announce the opening of Tangere, a two-person exhibition featuring the works of HP Denham (Los Angeles, CA) and Jade Yumang (Chicago, IL) on Saturday, October 17th, 2026.
Noli me tangere. At the threshold of the real, the caress traces the no-man’s land between being and not-yet-being. It seeks the unreality that slips away from the light of the graspable, the reasonable, the sensible.
This threshold of unreality is where Denham and Yumang meet: corporeal forms are defamiliarized, transformed and abstracted through oil and thread, respectively, into assemblages that unmake totalizing assumptions and agreements about what bodies are and do.
Touch me not. Offer me not to the grasping altar of anticipation. Find me in the caress that searches and forages, that ceaselessly escapes its form toward a future never future enough.
Opening Reception: Saturday, October 17th, 6-9 PM. Tangere will be on view until December 6th, 2026.
