Reva Ochuba is a designer and writer with a focus on fashion as both a media and medium. Highlighting fashion as social critique as well as producing garments under her own label, Ifeoma, her penchant for deep dichotomy nestles her right within the tracks of cultural purveyor and social voyeur.

Tell us a little bit about yourself and what you do. Hi! I’m a Creative Director and Writer with fashion being my main focus.

Top 3 favorite or most visited websites? eBay: just because it’s a living, breathing search engine. Tumblr: probably for the same reasons I love eBay. Craigslist: Guess I love to search for stuff. I’m all about the hunt.

How has living in LA affected your work? I used to think LA somehow barred me from creating my best work…like a kind of “hometown-hinderance” but I now relish in the city because it’s what I know and the city is a huge part of who I am.

What kinds of things are influencing your work right now? Being really internal and finding the things that make me tick. Hoping to make Ifeoma’s next collection more indicative of me, my interests, and how those things come together to produce an intriguing, all encompassing body of work that expresses a kind of “coming-to-age”.

What are some recent, upcoming or current projects you are working on? Ifeoma’s second collection and a few other projects to drop in March!

Where do you plan to travel next? Hitting Europe at the end of March for a few weeks.

What do you collect? Coats and books.

Describe your current studio or workspace. I actually work out of my school’s sewing lab. Not too sure that my professors are pleased with the fact that I’ve turned the sewing lab into an office (interns included), but it’ll do until I graduate.

Favorite LA hangouts? My Car, Arcana Books, Coffee Collab.

Who would be your dream person to dress? Omahyra Mota.
