Caesar’s Palace

1.9.21 - 2.21.21

LVL3 is proud to present Caesar’s Palace, a two-person exhibition featuring work by Caroline Jacobson and Taylor Marie Prendergast. Through classical styles and anthropomorphic imagery, the artists underline truths and absurdities in excess. Garish aesthetics aspire to and mimic antiquity in contemporary American culture. Representations of animals in Jacobson and Prendergast’s work symbolize the symptoms of bastardization and fetishization within European and American traditions of wealth. The theatricality of Jacobson’s sculptural work and the simplicity of Prendergast’s material choices enforce the paradoxical drama of Caesar’s Palace.
