TT The Artist creates a well-blended sound of hip hop, pop, club and electronic digital music. Her brilliant “Pussy Ate” single led to a performance at the Boiler Room and features in Vice, Noisey, and Red Bull, who spoke of her single as “a brilliant, booty-shaking blend of Bmore club beats and refreshing lyrics.” After ending the year with a feature on Diplo & Swick’s catchy single “Dat A Freak”, in 2015 TT will be releasing her Art Royalty EP and setting off on her first US tour this Spring.
Tell us a little bit about yourself and what you do. I always looked at myself as an out of the box thinker. I was born and raised in Fort Lauderdale, FL , but found a home in Baltimore, MD. I attended the Maryland Institute College Of Art where I studied fine arts and video. Early on in my career I knew I wanted to experiment with different media when creating my art and music.

How has living in Baltimore affected your music? I truly found my sound living in Baltimore. I committed to what type of artist I wanted to be. I learned how to be unapologetic for being a creative and expressing myself no matter how crazy the world viewed me.
What kinds of things are influencing your music right now? Lately I have been listening to a lot of Miami Bass and 90s dance music. I like the brightness of the instruments and the rhythms.
What are some recent, upcoming or current projects you are working on? I just premiered my latest EP, Art Royalty, now available on iTunes. Art Royalty is a fusion of music styles: Baltimore Club, EDM, and Hip Hop. Audiences are taken on an exhilarating sonic journey as they become blanketed by the collection of funky, body-shaking grooves!
If you were a drink, what drink would you be? I would a fine glass of red wine, lol.
How did your interest in music begin? When I was a sophomore in high school my homegirl use to freestyle and battle rap. I admired the power in her voice and how she grab the attention of her audience. As a woman, I wanted to have that type of power through words so I started writing my own rhymes. Years later TT the Artist emerged.
What other musicians/bands are you interested in right now? I have been really feeling James Blake, Tink, Jhene Aiko, Drake, Erykah Badu — my fav, Daft Punk, the list goes on…
Who would you ideally like to collaborate with?A collaboration with Pharell would be classic.
What do you want a viewer to walk away with after hearing your music? My mood changes with my music so my latest project is all about having a “get up and go” attitude about life. Create your happiness and the world around you!
Most embarrassing moment on stage? It’s always a awkward moment when sound goes out in the middle of a high energy performance; that’s when you have to test your inner artist and still keep the crowd engaged but on the inside you are really freaking out about it.
What were you like in high school? I started out very shy and I was an extrovert by my senior year; I was very involved with student activities and even got voted “Most Talented”.
