CEO is the solo project of Eric Berglund, previously a member of the Swedish electronic music duo The Tough Alliance and CEO of the independent label Sincerely Yours.

Tell us a little bit about yourself and what you do. Just a fucked up boy trying to connect with all forms of life. Waves, bitches, ghosts, music, spiders etc. Trying to hurt as little as possible but accepting what I do.

Top 3 favorite or most visited websites and why? Ebay cause I gotta stay fly.

Amazon Books cause I gotta stay sharp.

Sincerely Yours cause I gotta give you what you need.

How has living in the countryside affected your music? It has forced me to face myself and life and see myself clearer in relation to the rest of the world which should affect my art. I hope it makes it clearer, more sincere.

How long have you lived in the countryside and what brought you there? Over three years. I wanted more silence, more darkness, more light, more green and blue and more space.

What kinds of things are influencing your music right now? The dark, the light, Team Rockit, the female body, fighting, merely, the male body, Hello Kitty, Rory Macdonald, animals, Lana Del Rey, Yoshitaka Amano, my wife to be—shit like that.

What are some recent, upcoming or current projects you are working on? Merely and JJ. And new music as CEO.

If you were a drink, what drink would you be? Methylated spirits & molly with some ginger and a couple strawberries.

How did your interest in music begin? Through the movie Top Gun and my sisters I believe.

What other musicians are you interested in right now? I’m not interested in music. It speaks to my body and soul, not my mind. Merely. Bladee. Joe Hisaishi. Bobby Shmurda. Kendal Johansson. John The Baptiste. Yumi Arai. Team Rockit. Arca. Lou Harrison. Future. Lisa Gerrard. Main Attrakionz. DJ Sharpnel.

Who would you ideally like to collaborate with? The people I collaborate with. And maybe Blandine Verlet, Sea-Hyun Lee, Firas Zahabi and people like that.

What do you want a listener to walk away with after hearing your music? Emotion. They are meant to feel whatever the fuck they feel and whatever makes me happy.

What’s your absolute favorite place in the city/the world to be? Home, USA, Sarek and Japan.

Most embarrassing moment on stage? I have never actually been embarrassed on stage cause I’ve always been too gone to feel silly emotions like that. I think I have embarrassed a lot of other people though. From like hanging on chandeliers, eating fruit, being drunk, being high, hugging for too long, kicking and screaming, microphone in mouth and shit.

There is a big chance I will.

What were you like in high school? Sad. Popular. Angry. Skater. With make up and good grades.

Can you share one of the best or worst reactions you have gotten as a result of your music? There is no worst, all reactions are good in their way. Just because they are hard for the ego to handle doesn’t mean they’re bad.

Got this today tho :*)

we have so much to say
to you
for welcoming us
to this world

but then we realize
we welcomed you to ours
all at once

and yet we just wanna say
thank you so much
so deeply
for the true true you
and the energy
to remain sincere
