Top Nice is a club collective based in Stockholm and London. They have been producing festivals, exhibitions and club nights since 2004. Hampus Larsson is a co-founder of the collective.
Tell us a little bit about yourself and what you do. I work in the fields of art, design and production/dj of/at club nights. Most of my work is based on close collaborations with other artists/curators. Co-founder of the club collective Top Nice which has been running for the last ten years in London and Stockholm. Part of the art group lvl.hk making exhibitions, music videos and publications. Guard and do guided tours at Liljevalchs kunsthalle. Studied art for a year at Camberwell in London/U.K. and did a BA in graphic design at University of Brighton/U.K 2004-2008.

What kinds of things are influencing your work right now? To stay away from harmful norms and the need to give people positive places where they can find energy to fight back dangerous winds, which are blowing at the moment.
What are some recent, upcoming or current projects you are working on? Organizing a new record label and club night called Body, and designing for the record label, Born Free to name a few.
If you were a drink what drink would you be? The drink we make for our lvl project, Landing Strip; consists of green tea, rock sugar, cheap whiskey and ice. Barely drinkable.
How did your interest in your work begin? When I started making fast italian boats made out of my grandmothers cigarette cardboard boxes.
How long have you lived in Stockholm and what brought you there? 33 years in Stockholm and my mother brought me here.
What’s your absolute favorite place in the city/the world to be? This little island with no electricity in Sweden, at friends places in London or my girlfriends grandmothers house in Hong Kong.
What are you really excited about right now? Starting to autumn-work in my studio and getting contact lenses so I can watch Top Nice on Boiler Room.
Can you share one of the best or worst reactions you have gotten as a result of your work? A both best/worst reaction was when I showed a selection of my work and the reply was “I don’t like sad endings”.
