Jason Harvey is a young Canadian alternative artist currently living in Berlin, Europe. He mostly make things that live on the computer or on the internet, sometimes existing briefly in tangible reality.

What are some recent, upcoming or current projects you are working on? Right now I am working on a script for a sitcom that takes in the western Pacific Garbage Vortex (Est. date of completion  2020), directing some more music videos and other video stuff, and slowly starting to put together a book or short, mostly scatological poetry.

What is one of the bigger challenges you and/or other artists are struggling with these days and how do you see it developing? I think the bigger problems that you have as an artist are the same as you have as a human in general. Like, you often feel bad or tired or stupid or like everyone is constantly doing better than you, or like you are getting older and closer to death everyday and the world is producing more and more garbage and all food is poison. But you have to try and remember that you are probably a beautiful genius and to keep on trying to do things and to make things.

If you had one wish what would it be? A hundred billion million dollars; also eternal happiness for all humans and animals on Earth.

Who is your ideal business sponsor/partner? An ideal sponsor would be a new extreme energy drink/powder/jelly/food replacement that would give me infinite money and resources to use as I see fit, to create new and powerful artwork, regardless of medium, that communicates the true essence of the human experience and justifies all creative struggle that has come before it.

What’s your favorite thing about your city? Everyone is drunk all the time.

What do you do when you’re not making videos? I do a lot of lying down, thinking about my life.

Can you share one of the best or worst reactions you have gotten as a result of your work? I once built a giant fifty foot long anthropomorphic worm that was filled with garbage for an installation in an abandoned pool, but at the opening party things got out of control and everyone destroyed the worm and got garbage everywhere. At the time I was kind of upset about it but now I think its kind of funny and interesting. RIP worm.

What is your ideal studio situation/workspace? I really like places where I have the option of being in complete darkness or bathed in beautiful indirect sunlight and surrounded by beautiful small helpful animals. Also I would need a huge really sick super fast computer and wifi.
