LVL3 is excited to announce the two-person exhibition Decoherence, featuring the work of Paula McLean (Toronto, ON) and Edwin Hartlove (Chicago, IL). Decoherence will open on December 6th, 2025 and will remain on view until January 25th, 2026.

Each choice to be made in the present is informed by previous decisions that have come before. The trace inscribes itself in the object, production lingering as residue of form. With these marks in time, they are cemented as a point of reference, beckoning a response. Intimacy folds into control, vulnerability hardens into structure— the parergon holds and unfixes, a passage where memory materializes and dissolves, again, into structure. Accumulating into shape and form, the weight it holds comes to limit what it can and cannot be. Between absence and presence, a cleft: systems breathe against the body, pneumatic pressures shaping thought. Despite these pressures, choice becomes the moment that defines agency.
