LVL3 is proud to participate in Hyde Park Art Center’s Artist Run Chicago 2.0, an exhibition celebrating the work of fifty artist-run spaces and organizations that fuel Chicago’s independent art scene. Marking the ten-year anniversary of HPAC’s original exhibition, Artist Run Chicago (2009), this upcoming exhibition examines the core motivations, trajectories, and philosophies that have led to new models of artist-run initiatives such as LVL3. As we celebrate our own 10 year anniversary, our participation in Artist Run Chicago 2.0 will include a grouping of artwork, notes, ephemera, and other material we’ve collected over the years. Through re-exhibiting these works, we hope to pay homage to all the artists who have passed through our space. The overall goal for this show is archival in nature as we offer insight into the accidental material accumulation and collecting that comes with running a space like LVL3.
Featuring work by Guy Connors and Paul Kenneth, Alika Cooper, Chelsea Culprit, David Heo, Michael Hunter and Rachel Niffenegger, Adam Milner, Matt Nichols, Susan Pasowicz, Cecilia Salama, Jenn Smith, Lauren Taylor, Erin Washington, and Derek Williams.
