Fhin

November 5, 2017

Fhin is a self-taught artist, crazy about music and sound goldsmith. Producer, drummer, guitarist and singer of his own productions, he definitely has several strings to his bow. After going through various formations as a musician, but also by many projects managed as a record engineer, Fhin lifts the veil on a universe oscillating between pop, trip-hop and future music.

Tell us a little bit about yourself and what you do.  I’m Fhin and I convert my dreams, thoughts and feelings in music.

What was the last show you went to that stuck out to you?  I went to Mac Demarco’s gig in Paris, the way he communicates with the audience is unique.

Who would you ideally like to collaborate with?  I’m a huge fan of Bon Iver, Superpoze, M83, Nils Frahm, Daft Punk… There are too many of them.

Top 3 favorite or most visited websites and why?  Soundcloud to discover unlimited new music, Youtube of course to lost myself in its deep waters before going to sleep,  I like to read manga scans too on different website.

What do you do when you’re not working on music?  I hang out, I go through Paris with my motorbike, on week end with my friends an girlfriend, I visit my parents and sister in my childhood village.

How did your interest in music begin?  Really early, my dad is a drummer too. I have this 90’s video where I play the congas on a sofa while my sister sings the Lion King’s song with her toy mic, I was nearly able to walk at that time.

What are you really excited about right now?  Gigs, I want to play everywhere, traveling for music is really exciting.

What do you want a listener to walk away with after hearing your music?  The desire to play it again!

Most embarrassing moment on stage? One of my first, in Paris. I played a lot of instruments from my computer at this moments and it just crashed. Worst, Thomas Bangalter was in the audience…

Can you share one of the best or worst reactions you have gotten as a result of your music?  With the same song a woman cried while listening to it through earphones. Another time a friend was playing it and a dude yelled “what’s that crap ??”
